Pilates matwork Pilates is a mind, body and spirit method of exercise. It is a series of unique exercises done lying, seated, kneeling and standing. Using breathing and movement, pilates exercises strengthen the core of the body. They can bring flexibility, co-ordination, strength and balance in the body, as well as improving posture and movement. Pilates is great on its own and compliments other forms of exercise and rehabilitation therapies. Doing pilates on a regular basis can help you feel more centered, balanced, calm and connected, as you not only work with your muscle groups within the body, you work with your breath and body systems too. I teach pilates in groups of 5/6 or individually.
