What does Reiki mean?

REI - wisdom and knowledge from the Universe (pronounced RAY)
KI - life force energy whick flows through all living things (pronounced KEY)

How does it work?

It is a "hands on" therapy.
The practitioner's hands are placed gently and lightly on the energy centres (chakras) of the body.
There may be a feeling of warmth and deep relaxation as the energy is channelled through the practitioner to the client.
Reiki energy will be taken up by the body where it is needed to deal with issues and imbalances - it works automatically.
Reiki works on every level - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
